MLS is a long-established exam preparation centre. Whatever course you are studying, there is an internationally recognised exam you can take to demonstrate your level of English and supplement the end-of-course certificate and report provided by MLS.  Studying for an external exam will also ensure that you have a target outcome for your training course, which may have a positive influence on you progress.

The MLS Library has a good range of exam preparation and practice material that will help you to be ready for your exam. You can also use the self-study rooms for online exam practice. The MLS Exams Manager can advise you on the best exam to take for your purposes and can help you with enrolment.

Business English Exams

The MLS Business English (25+) courses will assist you in preparing for Cambridge English: LINGUASKILL Business and Cambridge English: Business (BEC).  Both of these exams are widely recognised in the workplace.

Cambridge English Business Qualifications and tests are well-respected globally and are accepted as proof of English level by world-renowned organisations including Microsoft, Adidas and American Express.  See the Cambridge English Assessment website for a full list of organisations in your country and around the world that accept the Cambridge English Business exams.

The LINGUASKILL Business test can provide the evidence you need to convince employers of your ability to perform well in an English-speaking business environment. Powered by Cambridge English, it is a fast, accurate online English test that covers all four language skills. You will receive an in-depth statement of your language ability expressed in terms of the internationally recognised CEFR levels (A1-C2).

There are three separate modules available:

  • Module 1: Reading & Listening
  • Module 2: Writing
  • Module 3: Speaking

Candidates can take one or more modules at MLS and will receive a Test Report Form for each module. The results for Module 1 are available on the same day as the test, and results for Modules 2 and 3 are generally available within 48 hours, making this a flexible choice of exam and one that is regularly run at MLS.

Cambridge English Business Qualifications (formerly known as BEC exams) help you to get the practical language skills you need to work effectively in international business.  The Cambridge English: Business (BEC) is available at three levels:

  • B1 Business Preliminary
  • B2 Business Vantage
  • C1 Business Higher

Cambridge English B2 Business Vantage and CI Business Higher take place at the London Exam Centre.

Please note that exam sessions are subject to a minimum number of candidates and some advertised dates may not take place. Please check before booking your course.
